changes!!!

May 21, 2018 hey everyone! i don't have a whole lot of time today, but I just wanted to let you all know that I'm doing great here in Mexico. Today we had changes! They took Elder De Guzman and I both out of Espartaco! It was pretty shocking, I was positive that I was going to stay another change! But oh well. I got moved to open an area called Cafetales. It's my first time really opening an area, so it should be fun! My new companions name is Elder Monk. He is from Spanish fork, Ut. He is actually my first companion from Utah! So it's gonna be awesome! I love all of you very much and I appreciate all the LOVE and SUPPORT that I have received through the course of my mission. You guys are the best! LOVE, Elder Te Got to Skype with my family Miss and love my bro Michael The Capuano's surprised me and took me to a Chinese buffet for my B-day They are some wonderful friends to me Here's a cake they made for me Another awesome bap...

Remember your covenants!

April 23, 2018 it was a pretty good week here in espartaco! Found some new investigators, put baptismal dates for them! so hope everything work out. They are three kids! so hopefully we can get them excited for baptism! Our investigator Jesus got baptized this week! It was pretty cool. Jesus has been an investigator for like 3 years, but for some reason he stopped listening to the missionaries for like 2 years. His wife recently got baptized, exactly a month ago actually, and so this past month we've really taken advantage of the opportunity and got him excited to be baptized. And Jesus is one of those investigators that you don't really find. His goal wasn't to be baptized. His goal is to get the priesthood and be sealed one day on the temple and baptism is just a step he needs to take to get there. He goes to church every Sunday and actively participates in class! He really wanted to change his life, and now he is baptized! He is such a great guy, and I know that if h...

Love your neighbor

April 16, 2018 Quick email!!! No time today!! We had the best baptismal service on Saturday for our investigators Hebe, Jade and Rubi! I loved it! It is a really interesting story with these three girls. Thier grandparents got baptized like 6 months ago. Nobody in the family wanted anything at the time. Even when i first got here in the area of Espartaco, the three girls wouldn't even shake our hands. They wanted nothing to do with God or with us. For some reason, Jade decided to come to church with her grandparents and with Rubi. That was about a month ago. A week later, they told us that Hebe wanted to start listening to the missionaries. So we went and visited her (oh by the way they all live in the same house, just different floors. Very common in Mexico) So anyway, we started talking to Hebe, put a baptismal date with her on the first lesson, and there were literally no complications. They all went to church every week, they all stopped the bad habits they had in their l...

I'm not the one in the hospital this time

April 9, 2018 it's been a little interesting these past two weeks! First off, I will just say that this past general conference was one of the best, most spiritual conferences I've ever witnessed! It was awesome! President Nelson is truly the prophet!! Lots of new changes, it was awesome to watch it all! Last week tho, my companion got super sick! All day Sunday, during conference, he was just like dying! So after conference we went home so he could rest. He slept for like 5 hours, woke up and his temperature was like 104, so we called some members from the ward, and told them, they came and picked us up and took us to the hospital. Elder De Guzman got checked up by the worst doctor in the world, and then we literally waited like 6 hours for the results of his tests. It was like 4:30am at this point, and it was impossible for me to sleep. I just sat in a chair the whole time. Finally, the surgeon was like yeah you have an appendicitis, and we're going to take you up t...

PREPARE your hearts

March 26, 2018 hello! happy monday to everyone! well, this was an awesome week for Elder De Guzman and I. We have some really amazing investigators that I would like to tell you guys about. There is this family named the familia Capuano. They are a family that the missionaries actually found before i got to the area. And pretty much, the dad, Julio, got baptized like 30 years ago, got the priesthood, and then went inactive for like 20 years. And the missionaries found him and his family. Then I got here, and we started teaching them. And I can truly testify to their conversion, because when i first got here they didn't really want anything and now they have a baptismal date for the 7th of April and they couldn't be more ready. Also the cool thing is that Julio lived in Los Angeles for like 15 years so he speaks perfect English. And their daughter Zoe, is 11 years old, and also speaks amazing English. I love this family so much! I can't wait for their baptism. Julio i...

ONE YEAR!!!!!

Mar 12, 2018 I have officially been out for ONE YEAR! I cannot believe how fast the time has gone here in Mexico! I have learned a ton, but I still have SO MUCH more to learn. I love the mexican people. They are so loving and have taught me so much about charity. I am learning to like my new area. It's pretty good and theres a lot of work here right now. This week we were able to see a lot of miracles in our area. I know that The Lord is working with us here in Espartaco. We have like 8 investigators with a baptisimal date right now and they are all progressing wonderfully! One of our investigators, Sarahi, is going to get baptized this next saturday. It's gonna be awesome! Can't wait for that. Anyway, I'll attach some pictures from the week. I burned a shirt for my one year mark haha!! anyway, love you all! have a good week! 🤘💙 Jesus loves you! Elder Te Me and this dude 3 great books It's a tradition to burn a shirt when you hit 1 year as ...

Finally out of Iztapalapa

Feb 26, 2018 I'm finally out of Iztapalpa!!! no..... im actually really really sad! It was my favorite are and it was so hard to leave! there were a lot of super awesome families in that ward and I can't wait to go back and visit them after my mission. Anyway, I am now in an area called Espartaco in a zone called churubusco! It is a super cool area. It's a lot different from my old area. It is in a nicer part of town I would say, but I guess the work is still the same. My companions name is Elder De Guzman and he is from San Diego. He has like 3 months in the mission. He just finished his 12 weeks so im only his second companion. It's cool though. I recieved the assigment of district leader this change. I'm pretty excited and motivated to learn and progess and ultimately become a better missionary! but anyway, i dont have any more time today! so i will just add as many pictures as I can! love you all!!! have an awesome week!! Elder Te Pics of families...

PRAY

Feb 12, 2018 pretty awesome week here in iztapalapa! we are teaching a really cool family right now! It's cool because the mom came up to us on the street to contact us and invited us to her house. Turns out that they are our neighbors. Its a mom and dad and their 2 daughters. Pretty strong christian family, but we taught the restoration and shared the Book of Mormon and they were really really accepting! I have a ton of faith for them! Only have had two lessons with them, so not much to say right now, but we will see what happens! Remember Veronica!? shes so awesome. We had two amazing lessons with her this week. She pretty much wants to get closer to God and be a better mom. But the thing is that she knows nothing about God or Jesus. So we taught her a few principles like faith and prayer. Stuff that she inst familiar with at all. I don't really know how to explain what it's like to hear someone pray for the first time in their life. She told us that she prayed some...

January is already over??

Jan 29, 2018 hola!! this was an awesome week for elder Lomeli and I. I don't got much time, so I'm just gonna write about a cool experience we had this week. This week Elder Lomeli and I were walking and we ran into a lady named Diana Bruce. She started telling us that she was a member of the church and all and that shes been inactive for many years. And then when she heard us speak she knew we weren't from here, so she just starts speaking to us in like perfect English. And we're like haha what the heck. And she told us that she lived in Oklahoma for like 20 or 30 years, so she claims herself as an american who lives in Mexico just like us. Anyway, we talked for a bit and she invited us over to her house on Friday. So we went, and learned that she has 13 cats, 8 dogs, probably 30 birds and half of them are really pretty macaws, 2 sheep, and a deer. So yeah I guess she loves animals. Her house is so huge. Anyway, we were talking and she offered us breakfast, and o...

BAPTISM!!!!!

Jan 15, 2018 It was a super awesome week for us! it was the last week of the transfer, so today is the start of a new one! Elder Lomeli and I stayed together here in Iztapalapa, and it's going to be a great change! I've been here for almost 8 months already, so we'll see what we can do. But anyway, the highlight of my week was definitely the baptismal service we had for our two investigators Nathan and Jacob. It was probably the best baptismal service I have ever been too in my whole life. The spirit was truly present there. We had an attendance of like 60 people! so i mean its the most people that have ever to one of my baptisms...and more people that come to sacrament meeting sometimes haha. But anyway it was a beautiful service. But this family is going to have a cool story. We found them like 4 weeks ago and they pretty much have been inactive for 5 years. They found the church in the united states about 8 years ago. The parents and oldest daughter got baptized, and...

Happy New Year 2018!!

Jan 8, 2018 sorry I havent written for so long! so much has happened, but then again I feel like not much has happened. My Christmas was pretty awesome here! I'm not gonna lie, it felt nothing like Christmas back at home in Oregon. The reason being... well they just celebrate it differently. There are people who go all out and decorate their homes with lights and Christmas trees, and then there are people that don't really care and just use it as an excuse to party and drink haha. But its cool. Christmas day here is really celebrated on the 24th, so the 25th kinda seems like a normal day. But nonetheless, I got to talk to my family and that's always nice. Then of course new years was this past week, which was pretty awesome too. It was weird because not that many people were out on the streets, kinda just another normal day. Cool story though: On Monday night, Elder Lomeli and I were talking right before we went to bed about the prophets. He was just asking me a bun...
