Week 11 - Great Lessons Learned

Hey everyone! Don't have too much time today so I'm going to write as much as I can in 5 minutes! Great week, it was hot, yet rained a ton. One night there was a thunderstorm so hard I couldn't sleep. And the lightning was crazy too. As far as investigators and baptisms, we have a lot coming up this transfer. Hopefully things work out! This past saturday we had a baptism for a family we've been teaching. They are a great example of people that want to be baptized and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. One girl, Yaretzy, has a really strong testimony. She only has 14 years old, yet she read the Book of Mormon during school! She gets made fun of every single day, and it's really hard for her but she doesn't care. She says that she knows the gospel is true and even tells that to the kids. We just tell her to keep being an example and the Lord will bless her. This family also doesn't have very much money, and couldn't afford to buy clothes for their bapt...

Week 10 - Elder Valenzuela and the Temple!... oh.. and my birthday!

Well, I had a pretty eventful week! It was probably the hottest week of my life, and this week is supposedly suppose to be hotter!! Oh well. We taught a decent amount of lessons, but im just gonna share some of the highlights of the week. On Friday, we had a conference with Elder Valenzuela. He is the first counselor in the presidency of the area of Mexico. The conference was from 10 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon! so it was pretty long, but i was super good! He talked about the importance of bringing families together and he also talked about the importance of finding new investigators. So, very simple topics, however his messages were so powerful. He also told all the missionaries who have not been doing language study every morning to go repent. And that was like every single missionary. He is a great guy and it was pretty cool shaking hands with and being in the presence of a general authority! I can't wait for another one to come! Saturday was definitely the best day...

Week 9 - Happy Mother's Day!

Alright guys, I have come to realize that my group emails have been pretty lame lately (ever since the beginning!) and im trying to be better at them! Last week I didn't write one because we had changes so me and my companion had to go pick up the new missionaries at the mission office so we had like 15 minutes to write! So sorry about that! Anyways, this was the 7th week of my mission. We are starting to have a lot of success here in La Noria. This last week, almost all of our investigators were there for our appointments. We taught around 30 lessons last week! Which honestly isn't that much. It's probably average. But we have a lot of people on date to be baptized, so it's great. I got to talk to my family yesterday and it was so awesome to see them! Oh yeah, and Happy Mother's Day to all the great moms out there! Someone that i´ve been thinking a lot about lately is Nephi. We taught about him a lot this week, and i´ve been studying first and second Nephi a lot ...

Week 8 - Last week of the transfer and "KINGS OF LA NORIA"

Hello everybody!! Well, this week is going to be the last week of my first transfer! I can´t believe how fast the time went! But, me and Elder Santos had a great week here in La Noria. I don't remember if I mentioned this, but my ward has four missionaries because our area is relatively big. So, me and Elder Santos have the upper part of our area and the other two missionaries have the bottom. But this week there were some special changes, the other missionaries left and now me and Elder santos are the KINGS of La Noria! It´s a lot more work but we are up for the challenge! Who knows if they will add more missionaries to our area. Anyways, the highlight of my week. We had what is called a "Bautizona!" It happens like once a month and it´s where a bunch of people in the same zone get baptized! I don't have much time today but i will add some pics! Until next week!! Love, Elder Te One of our investigators had a UofO shirt on, and she doesn't even know wha...
