Week 7 - Time is Flying By!

Well everyone, I almost have a month in the field! I can't believe how fast time is going! Everyday seems so long, yet so short at the same time! I can't even describe it. But anyways, not too much happened this week. We are teaching some families that are super close to getting baptized. The weather is so weird here! It´s cold in the mornings, hot in the day, and then a thunderstorm every night. But, it's great! The members feed us super well here. The thing I'm STILL getting used to is eating my main meal in the middle of the day! We usually don't eat breakfast, have a huge lunch around 2 or 3, and then don't eat again until like 9. But, it´s okay. There are food trucks everywhere! Today for our P-day, we went into a very pretty párt of the town called Xochimilco. There are so many stores there. Bought a fake G-Shock but it looks real! But yeah, cleaned the house today, and we FINALLY have hot water!! We also had Dominos! But I mean, it's not the same as...

Week 6 - Happy Easter!

Hey Everyone!! I say happy easter to you guys because NOBODY celebrates it here. I tried explaining the whole hiding easter eggs and the easter bunny to a few people in the ward and they just stared at me. Instead, they celebrate the death and birth of Christ. It's kinda weird. They literally reenact the crucifixion and there are a ton of people in the street. A lot of businesses are closed. The week is called ¨Semana Santa¨. It mostly happens in an area called Iztapalapa, and it can become dangerous for missionaries. I think they have to be in their apartments by like 5 o'clock every night during this past week. But everything is all good here in La Noria. We've got a few families on date for baptism, it´s awesome! Since we are in a new area, we have been finding a lot of investigators. And with that we have been teaching the Restauracion a lot! So one thing I hope everyone can focus on is reading the Book of Mormon and praying about the  prophet Joseph Smith. Study the sc...

Week 5 - Figuring Things Out

Whats up everyone!? Hope everybody had a great week! Well, today, I finally hit two weeks in the field, and one month in the mission! I am honestly having a great time here. The city is absolutely disgusting and smells bad, but somehow I find it beautiful! The people here are great! I love meeting new people and teaching investigators! the only thing is that in practically every appointment we have, i always get asked what my thoughts on Donald Trump are... let me tell you, they HATE Trump here. So i obviously tell them I don't care about him. In reality, I don't have a preference. Not into politics. Anyways, I had a pretty good week though. Went on exchanges with the Zone Leaders and we went to work! Visited a ton of investigators. The people here are very very willing to listen to our message. I love it! It's hot here everyday, and there are random thunderstorms every now and then. The food is good but I´ll be honest, lately the food has been getting the worst of me latel...

Week 4 - First REAL week!!

Alright everyone, my first real week as a missionary is over! I´m not gonna lie, it was a long week but went by fast, if you know what i mean. Me and my companion, Elder Santos, did a lot of re organizing and preping for our new apartment. It´s weird here in Mexico. You have to manually turn on your boiler and wait like 30 minutes to an hour depending on your apartment. You also cant flush toilet paper down the toilet? It´s weird. But overall, im loving it here. Its hot every single day. We do a ton of walking and we ride the bus a lot. I´ll put a picture of me in the bus. Hope everyone enjoyed General Conference! It was awesome! I thankfully got to watch it in English!! Oh yeah, another thing, NOBODY in my area speaks English! All the elders or hermanas that speak english are nowhere near me! It sucks, but i guess it helps me with my spanish. I{m in an area called La Noria. It´s us four missionaries in the ward. So every lunch appointment we have, the family has to feed all four of ...
